У нову версію додано безліч функцій, нові засоби для виконання повсякденних завдань, розширена підтримка відкритих стандартів - веб служб, RSS, Atom. Підприємства зможуть відчути зручність роботи з комплексними застосуваннями (Composite applications).
Створений на відкритій платформі (Екліпс), Notes пропонує новий інтерфейс в стилі веб 2.0, який, в той же час залишається Notes.
LND тепер включає інструменти для роботи з текстом, електронними таблицями і презентаціями.
Спрощення розгортання, підтримки за рахунок удосконалення засобів адміністрування дозволить захистити інвестиції в технологію і зменшити загальну вартість володіння (TCO).

| Mark your calendars for this Friday, August 17th! The official announcement has been made: electronic software delivery of the English language version of Lotus Notes and Domino 8 is this Friday. The wait will soon be over -- along with the public beta program.
Expect to see new content deliverables from us this Friday on developerWorks Lotus, including educational materials for new and existing Lotus Notes users, product documentation, and more.
For those of you who've been participating in our public beta discussion forum, we appreciate your feedback, and we encourage you to keep the conversations going in the same forum, but sorry, no more file attachments after this Friday.
